I spend a lot of time on the internet. A LOT. It’s my job, so….yeah. Anyway, I have found some cool websites that you may not have heard about that are pretty fabulous. See how great your password really is, get help editing emails and other content, and restore previous versions of software.
Cool Website #1. After the Deadline
Need help making sure your email, document, or presentation is spelled correctly? Copy and paste it into the text box on After the Deadline (formerly Polish My Writing) and it will spit back suggestions for corrections. Pretty handy.
Cool Website #2. Dead Url
You bookmarked a website site or article weeks ago, and now the site is kaput or the article has disappeared. No worries. Just type your dead url in the box, and you can visit backup locations for your missing web page.
Cool Website #3. Old Version
So you upgraded to the “newest version” of a software and you HATE it! You want the previous version back, right? Bam! Right here.
Cool Website #4. BugMeNot
Ever been to a website that you wanted to view, but you had to login, create a password, and all that jazz before you even saw the page? You don’t really want to sign up for anything or give out your info quite yet…go to BugMeNot and see if anyone from the web has shared a login on for that website. Login with that info, view the site, and waalah…
Cool Website #5. Filler Item
I hate it when I’m shopping on Amazon and have items that aren’t “prime” but will ship free if I buy $25 worth of Prime items. The problem is that I only have $21 worth of those items in my cart and the one I need quickly is the one that won’t ship soon! Ugh! I need a $4 item. Preferably, one I need anyway. Luckily, I can go to Filler Item and it will provide a list of $4 items for me to browse.
Cool Website #6. PDFescape
This is awesome. Really. Ever try to edit a PDF someone sent you? Good luck, right? It’s just a hassle and takes forever. Try PDFescape and edit your PDFs in a jif. Try it out now and thank me later.
Cool Website #7. Crackle
A completely free alternative to Netflix and Hulu is Crackle. It doesn’t have a huge selection, but it does have some good stuff. Worth a browse!
Cool Website #8. How Secure Is My Password
Think your password is great? It may be. Or it may stink. Find out on How Secure Is My Password? One of passwords will take 11 minutes to figure out, but my most important password will take…drumroll please…37 years!
